They go by the names of PhD students, PhD researchers, PhD or doctoral candidates and many variations on the theme.
But however they are called, wherever they are, their is one thing they all share in common: defencelessness. They have little or no rights at their place of work and can be and are easy victims of abuse.
We have come together to try to put an end to this injustice on a world wide basis.
